Elder Z Kye Bradshaw Mission 2021-2023

 Shoutout to the Nike slogan for cross country that gave me the title of this email haha. Hello friends and family. This one probably won't be too long, and this will be my last e-mail as a missionary! I will send a whopper next Friday or Saturday when I arrive at home! But next week is gonna be a bit rushed for me to be able to send an email. I want to share my love for each one of you and my love for Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, and the people here that I have the opportunity to serve. This experience has changed my life for the better, and I know that I will always remember the experiences I have had here. But let's get into a few specifics and that's that! WORK This week we worked like mad finding and teaching people! We managed to find 14 new people to teach and 27 lessons throughout the week!   Hello friends and family this week was a good week! We worked a lot, like a lot, and it was awesome! I'll give just a quick rundown today! PDAY  Last pday was zone pday and we made tacos with the zone. It was fun and I learned how to make tortillas so when I get home I'll have a new trick up my sleeve hehe. We also got to play some fun games like scum and skull King. HARD AT WORK This week we had the opportunity to find and teach some amazing new people. We found Edson through a media referral and he is reading the book of Mórmon a lot, so please pray for him. We found Hildebrando through his mom who stopped us on the street, and he is super shy but is willing to come unto christ. Please pray for them all. BATISMO Not ours, but the other companionship in our branch baptized a man names Sergio, he's really awesome, we are excited to have him in our branch! ZONECONF We also had zone conference this week with President and sister Dutson! It was really good about diligence. W...

 Bom dia friends and family I hope that everyone is doing well! This week was a pretty dang good one, and as each week winds down, we're doing our best to grind every day! I don't have a ton of stuff to wrote about this week, but I'll give a few highlights!! MEMBERS This week we have tried to work a lot more with the members of our branch to help them to bring friends and family to church! We worked with a couple who recently moved in, a few less active families, and a couple really active families also! It's been awesome to get to know them and work with them! Really the members here in Brazil are awesome and I will miss them a lot. This week we also had a trade of branch presidents! It was a great meeting and I'm sure that the new branch president will help us a ton in the work! TIKTOK As part of this working with members, one member from our branch works editing videos. These last weeks we have had a big emphasis on helping people have the experience of coming to church and being welcomed, and it has made a huge difference.   Hello friends and family happy Monday! I hope you're all doing super well. Sorry about not getting an email out last week, but I'll try to recapitulate what I missed. Also a fair warning that the emails might be a bit shorter than they have been but I promise to send a monster when I get home. These last two weeks have been full of miracles and some good times, so ima just give a lightning round! LIGHTNING ROUND We had 2 of the best lunches of my mission last week. The first was a churrasco with some members from the south that was delicious. The second was humongous beef filets with mashed potatoes.   Hey yall! Happy Monday all yall. This week I've got just a few minutes cause we've got pday with President and we don't want to be late! It's been a great week and basically everything has been improving a lot! We found lots of new people to teach, some great new families who are all progressing a lot! It's been a great experience just seeing the blessings of missionary work pouring into our lives! Some of the best experiences have been with families. This transfer we have focused a lot on finding and teaching whole families that can progress to the ultimate goal of a temple sealing and an eternal family. We have found so many who are interested especially a family of Guilherme and the family of Sidiney, we are so excited to work with them and we ask your prayers for each of them!   Hello friends and family how are you all doing? This week was a quick one and I don't have too much to write but I just wanted to shoot out a quick email! The title this week is due to a person we were teaching about the word of wisdom and they became convinced that alcohol and coffee were OK with the word of wisdom and that Soda wasn't. I tried to tell her that it was actually a commandment of faith and that as we exercise our faith keeping the word of wisdom we are blessed, but she wasn't having any of it haha. I think we have now started her on a life long anti-soda campaign, cause almost every day she posts stuff about how bad soda is for you. But what can you do... Other cool things that happened this week were a zone council in Cabo Frio, a light flood in the chapel, and lots of walking.   Hello friends and family! How are you all doing today?? I hope everyone's doing great and hello from the tourist city of Saquarema, RJ!! This week has been a good one, albeit very short! Cause of the conference and transfer that we had it feels like we have had very little time to get on the streets and work! My new comp is called Elder Donato and he's very cool!   Hello friends and family happy mothers day yesterday for all you moms out there hope you had an amazing day, especially my amazing and perfect mother! This week was pretty cool, we had some cool exchanges and generally made good progress helping others come unto Christ!  EXCHANGES pt 2 This week we had another 2 exchanges but they were a little different! Instead of switching for the day, me and my comp both went to their area and did a mini blitz with the companionship! On Tuesday it was Niterói 2. They've had some problems with health recently so I stayed at home with one Elder to do work online when our comps went out to work on the streets. It was a good experience for sure, we chatted and worked and made a good time out of it! We found some cool people to work with online too so it was fun!! On Thursday it was Niterói 1.   Hello my friends! How're you all doing??? Hope you're week cause I'm doing great here in Barreto, RJ! This week we had some great times and saw some awesome miracles that I want to talk about! So let's just get right into the email and talk! PDAY On the Mish whenever I can I like to do hikes for pday. 10/10 would recommend it has been awesome! Thus week we did one called pedra do elefante! And it was super awesome yall should take the time to do it EXCHANGE #1 My first exchange was with Elder Brito we spent 2 days getting on the grind together and it was fun! We found a ton of people, taught some great lessons and taught English class too! The most memorable moment was when we gave a lesson to a group of people about keeping the sabbath day holy! We had one friend of ours leave the room saying under his breath "this has to be the true church there's no other option" and it was really really cool. This week passed pretty fast and was really good, but it was a very average week in terms of what we did, so this'll probably be a fast email haha. But let's go ahead and share some of the fun stuff shall we? LIGHTNING ROUND We lost power for like 3 days so that was a big RIP The guys from the power company came and had to fix our apartment We had an exchange where we had 2 trios for a day in São Gonçalo and Mutuá Taught a fun restoration to a pastor evangelical, he seemed to like it haha I learned to do a wheelie in a wheelchair Learned savior redeemer of my soul on the piano Jammed to Disney music at night with my comp Invited someone from our inglês class to baptism.  So there's a list of names and addresses of members in our ward. But this list is at least 5-10 years old. Our bishop was a bit worried about this, so we offered to help a little bit! And let's just say it's been probably the biggest scavenger Hunt of my life hahahaha.  With a little map and a ton of effort we've been able to find and teach many many inactive members. It has been really awesome not going to lie. We have lots and lots of desire to help these people return to activity in the church and help them continue along the covenant path! Anyway let's highlight some of the best moments! EXCHANGESSS This week I has the opportunity to stay with a brand new missionary Elder de Jesus! It was way fun haha. We actually got our phone stolen on that day too so that was an interesting story, but after that we just went out with paper and pencil and went finding.   Hellloooo my friends! How are you all doing! Its been a little bit since I last wrote so im so sorry about that. One day to make up for it I promise to sit down with yall and tell you about every little detail of my mission haha. Anyways, these last few weeks have been pretty dang good here in Barreto, and I've been having a dang great time and learning lots and lots of new things! I think these last 3-4 transfers of my mission have been my biggest growing period for sure on my mission. I've learned so many different things that I didn't know that I needed haha. But anyways let's hop into the week!! REACTIVIATION These last few weeks we've put a lot of effort into reactivating less active members! It's been a fun work to do and I've noticed how quickly the days go by when we can help a family who is not coming to church. It's so amazing to see the joy that comes when they make the choice to return to what they believe. We have had some successes and so...

  So. Today we went to the temple! It was really really amazing not gonna lie. For anyone who's not been able to go for a while I challenge you to make an appointment and go.  Other than that these weeks have been great!! I'll give a quick rundown The WORK We've been working a tooooon and that's been awesome! Found a lot of new people who are all progressing really well and we hope to continue to find more. I'd you can all pray for Vinicius, terezinha, and lucas thats awesome!!! We've been on the grind with these three for a while and they've all got Baptism dates. Pray that they will have force to take the step!  The COMP We've had a great time together me and my trainer. It's so funny to see the difference that I've had in my Mish so far and how far I've come. I hope to keep progressing like I have until the last day of my mission.
