July 10, 2023: BRIGADEIRO
Hello friends and family, hope you're all doing well! Sorry. about not getting an e-mail out last week, but these last weeks I'll probably send out a little bit less just cause I've got less time and I want to make the most of every moment! But know that I still love you guys a lot hehe.
Anyways let's go ahead and get into the week!
This week we had a lot of fun and a lot of success in the work!
CHURCH! These last weeks we have had a big emphasis on helping people have the experience of coming to church and being welcomed, and it has made a huge difference. Really is true that when we go to church we Learn a lot and we have the amazing opportunity to become one with the saints.
EXCHANGE! This week I had an exchange with the amazing Elder Swain from Washington State! He is truly one of the best missionaries that I know, he is super focused and very guided by the spirit. I learned a lot with him and together we taught, walked, laughed, ministered, and really we had a great time.
FAMILY TIME! We've been working a lot with families and we've had the best experience with one family where the father was involved in drugs and some sketch stuff beforehand but he is super ready to change his life! It is honestly very inspiring to see and I am super happy to be a part of it! His whole family of 6 people went to church this week and it was great. He's got two sons that are balls of energy and remind my of my little brothers when they were younger haha.
BRIGADEIRO! This week I learned how to make and practiced making brigadeiro, a Brazilian treat that is delicious. Let's just say there were a few times that it was amazing and a few times our whole apartment filled up with smoke haha. But it's OK cause even when it went wrong we still laughed about it. Shout-out to Elder Lima who taught me how to make it and also was the cause of the time we almost burned down the house.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
This week I want to make a special mention of my recent study of the scriptures, and the importance of reading the words of God. I testify to each of you that simply reading the scriptures will bless your life. Some people we teach say that it's not worth it for them to read if they can't understand perfectly. I'm thankful for the knowledge that even if I don't understand everything, the effort I put into the reading of the scriptures I am blessed. So choose to read. Choose to pray. It's worth it!
Love yall so much, I'll send another email later with pics!
