Apr 13, 2022: Quick trip to the temple!

 Hi everyone! This week was very different than normal but the difference was something really really awesome!! And the rest of the week was pretty good too!!


SOMETHING NORMAL

This week we visited a lot of investigators in potencial, and tried to focus on building friendships with them. It was a good thing to do and were looking forward to hopefully starting to teach some of them soon! Another normal thing is for pday we went down to Macaé, this time we did a bit of exploring, we did a little hike, visited the beach, and had some açaí, so that was great!

SOMETHING FUNNY

This week I got pretty tired for some reason, and one day my comp went to cut his hair at the barbershop. I was sitting there waiting and talking to a few people, and reading my scriptures, and then suddenly I wake up and they tell me it's been 40 minutes haha. They tell me they were yelling my name  shaking my shoulders and just trying really hard to wake me up, but I just slept right through it all, just sitting up on the bench at the barbershop. It was pretty funny, and also probably very needed.

SOMETHING AWESOME

This week we got to visit the temple open house in Rio!! It was such an awesome experience and it is such a beautiful temple!! The theme running through the architecture is the fount of living water, who is Christ!! It is such a beautiful little temple and I really felt the spirit as I was able to walk through. I am beyond excited to be able to go and participate in proxy work there after the dedication! We also got to help out a little with inviting people in to see it. Me and another elder just went out to the streets and started inviting everyone we saw to come in and see it! It was way fun and I am excited to got back next week haha!!

SOMETHING SPIRITUAL
 Of course my spiritual thought this week will be on temples. I love love love temples. To me they are by far the most peaceful place on earth. You can always just go and forget about everything else and just be focused completely on the Savior. To me this is so important! It doesn't matter what you're doing. Baptisms, Sealings, just walking the grounds or sitting in the waiting room. You can feel the spirit there. I encourage you all to make the effort to find that peace in your life! Even if you can't go in, I promise it's so worth it to go!!

  Hello friends and family happy Monday! I hope you're all doing super well. Sorry about not getting an email out last week, but I'll try to recapitulate what I missed. Also a fair warning that the emails might be a bit shorter than they have been but I promise to send a monster when I get home. These last two weeks have been full of miracles and some good times, so ima just give a lightning round! LIGHTNING ROUND We had 2 of the best lunches of my mission last week. The first was a churrasco with some members from the south that was delicious. The second was humongous beef filets with mashed potatoes. May 8, 2023: Week of exchanges

  Hello my friends! How're you all doing??? Hope you're week cause I'm doing great here in Barreto, RJ! This week we had some great times and saw some awesome miracles that I want to talk about! So let's just get right into the email and talk! PDAY On the Mish whenever I can I like to do hikes for pday. 10/10 would recommend it has been awesome! Thus week we did one called pedra do elefante! And it was super awesome yall should take the time to do it EXCHANGE #1 My first exchange was with Elder Brito we spent 2 days getting on the grind together and it was fun! We found a ton of people, taught some great lessons and taught English class too! The most memorable moment was when we gave a lesson to a group of people about keeping the sabbath day holy! We had one friend of ours leave the room saying under his breath "this has to be the true church there's no other option" and it was really really cool. Apr 24, 2023: Scavenger Hunt 2.0

 So there's a list of names and addresses of members in our ward. But this list is at least 5-10 years old. Our bishop was a bit worried about this, so we offered to help a little bit! And let's just say it's been probably the biggest scavenger Hunt of my life hahahaha.  With a little map and a ton of effort we've been able to find and teach many many inactive members. It has been really awesome not going to lie. We have lots and lots of desire to help these people return to activity in the church and help them continue along the covenant path! Anyway let's highlight some of the best moments! EXCHANGESSS This week I has the opportunity to stay with a brand new missionary Elder de Jesus! It was way fun haha. We actually got our phone stolen on that day too so that was an interesting story, but after that we just went out with paper and pencil and went finding.
