Apr 6, 2022: The rains came again to Macabu

 Oi everyone bom dia!! How're yall doing!! I'd like to take a second first here to say thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes, I really really appreciated it and it really made my day.  ❤

Anyways this week was an absolute blast! We got to hear the words of the prophets, we got to celebrate a little bit, and we got to enjoy* the nice cool rain.

DIVISÃO

This week started with something fun, a 2 day exchange with the ZLs haha, it was pretty fun! We did a lot of teaching which I really love and had some great finds on the street, people who are really interested in hearing more!! It was a great exchange and a great start to the week!

CONFERENCE/BIRTHDAY

Conference was *of course* awesome! We had a great time being with some members and investigators to watch, which was just awesome. We had some people who really liked it which we are very happy about. I honestly just really had a good time listening to every part. 
I'll just throw in my spiritual thought right here, I really loved President Nelson's talk in the Sunday Morning session. I really love how he talked about taking time to resolve your personal conflicts, and how that will help each one of us. This week I read a talk too that talked about this. One quote I thought was funny and true was about a couple that was having problems. One of them told a counselor "But I know I'm right!! Why should I apologize?"
He said "Would you rather be right, or would you rather be married?" And when we think about this it is true. So many times we see when Christ was right (always) but he never took anything personally, he always was humble and meek and just chose to do what is right. We can do the same thing. I encourage you all like president Nelson to take time to overcome conflicts. Just remember it's always better to be kind and be happy than to be right.

RANDOM

I'm not sure what else to put from this week so ima just put random stuff and funny stuff

I got to ride a bike for the first time in a while so that was fun

We talked to some teenagers in the park and ended up talking to them for like an hour which was fun

We got absolutely blasted by rain 2x this week

The Second one we saw someone who was literally moving houses that day so we helped someone move in the rain (Literally the fastest move I've ever seen, everyone was sprinting haha)

Balled up at zone pday (I'm improving a lot at soccer so that's Hype.)

We keep getting free stuff from the people around here, this week got some cake, some banana bread, peanuts, bananas, bubblegum, popcorn, and that's just what I remember, so it's pretty fun

I have officially evolved to only eating lunch every day and that kinda just gets me through.

Went to a legiiit American hamburger place for my birthday and this crazy guy we know showed up and offered to buy me anything on the menu haha, so we had some really tasty brisket.

Had a monster for the first time in my life (Not that good)

Got permission to start knocking on doors again!

Had someone offer us drugs (we politely refused) (I still don't know if he was joking or not)

Just generally had a good week

So that's about our week this week!

  Hello friends and family happy Monday! I hope you're all doing super well. Sorry about not getting an email out last week, but I'll try to recapitulate what I missed. Also a fair warning that the emails might be a bit shorter than they have been but I promise to send a monster when I get home. May 8, 2023: Week of exchanges

  Hello my friends! How're you all doing??? Hope you're week cause I'm doing great here in Barreto, RJ! This week we had some great times and saw some awesome miracles that I want to talk about! So let's just get right into the email and talk! PDAY On the Mish whenever I can I like to do hikes for pday. 10/10 would recommend it has been awesome! Thus week we did one called pedra do elefante! And it was super awesome yall should take the time to do it EXCHANGE #1 My first exchange was with Elder Brito we spent 2 days getting on the grind together and it was fun! We found a ton of people, taught some great lessons and taught English class too! The most memorable moment was when we gave a lesson to a group of people about keeping the sabbath day holy! We had one friend of ours leave the room saying under his breath "this has to be the true church there's no other option" and it was really really cool. Apr 24, 2023: Scavenger Hunt 2.0

 So there's a list of names and addresses of members in our ward. But this list is at least 5-10 years old. Our bishop was a bit worried about this, so we offered to help a little bit! And let's just say it's been probably the biggest scavenger Hunt of my life hahahaha.  With a little map and a ton of effort we've been able to find and teach many many inactive members. It has been really awesome not going to lie. We have lots and lots of desire to help these people return to activity in the church and help them continue along the covenant path! Anyway let's highlight some of the best moments! EXCHANGESSS This week I has the opportunity to stay with a brand new missionary Elder de Jesus! It was way fun haha. We actually got our phone stolen on that day too so that was an interesting story, but after that we just went out with paper and pencil and went finding.
