Dec 13, 2021: It's raining, it's pouring...

 And then the streets flooded. And then our house flooded.

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! This weeks been an interesting one haha.

The RAIN
We got a lot of Rain this week which was honestly great! It makes it so it's not 105 degrees outside which is pretty amazing. However on Monday we were walking to lunch and we get to the bottom of the hill our house is on and the streets are just filled with water. But we only had one way to get to lunch só... we did parkour across the street! But that didn't work at all só we ended up just wading through the streets to lunch. It was one for the book for sure haha.
Oh also we got home from church yesterday and our house was flooded. No idea how it happened, but we spent like 2 hours mopping up about 2 inches of water all over our floor! Thankfully all our important stuff wasn't on the floor haha.
Also our power went out cause of the Rain for like 2 hours. Good stuff.

The WARD
The Duque de Caxias ward is probably one of the best wards in the world I kid you not. They are constantly willing to help us with pretty much anything, and we have member lunch every day and the members are super psyched about missionary work! They do something called a familiar reunião every week where pretty much we can bring our friends and less actives and the ward will just friendship them like no other. It is absolutely amazing. This week we had a ward Christmas activity, and there were like 5-6 nonmembers that were teaching or trying to teach and like 5 less actives too. It was epic. These people are just the best.

The MISSIONARIES
My comps continue to be great. The trio life is pretty fun lol. Me and Elder Shepherd are just struggling through português together which is fun too. Also I got to talk to a lot of my flight group and some more missionáries cause I went and got some paperwork done at the office só I can legally live here in Brazil. It was pretty epic I got to see my MTC comp Elder Sampson again só that was fun too. It's always interesting to actually speak in English haha.

The RANDOM
I learned to solve a Rubix Cube pretty quickly. I got it in 1 min 30 seconds.

Elder Boroma seems to be finally getting over this Stupid cold só thats good!
I'm don't remember if I put this in another e-mail but a week or só ago I had some Chicken hearts that were pretty good.  Elder Boroma is obsessed with Laren Daigle só thats pretty fun. I think thats pretty much it honestly

But SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
One quote my mom always said was "come what may and love it." As I have been here in Brazil I have learned the importânce of having a positive attitude. As I have learned to love everything, the good, the bad, and the in between, I have noticed the power of Christ working in my life. Through his charity, we can accomplish our purpose on Earth much more easily. I know that if we have a positive attitude we will be blessed! Well I love you all! I'll probably send picture in another e-mail cause I can't figure it out here.

  Hello friends and family happy Monday! I hope you're all doing super well. Sorry about not getting an email out last week, but I'll try to recapitulate what I missed. Also a fair warning that the emails might be a bit shorter than they have been but I promise to send a monster when I get home. These last two weeks have been full of miracles and some good times, so ima just give a lightning round! LIGHTNING ROUND We had 2 of the best lunches of my mission last week. The first was a churrasco with some members from the south that was delicious. The second was humongous beef filets with mashed potatoes. May 8, 2023: Week of exchanges

  Hello my friends! How're you all doing??? Hope you're week cause I'm doing great here in Barreto, RJ! This week we had some great times and saw some awesome miracles that I want to talk about! So let's just get right into the email and talk! PDAY On the Mish whenever I can I like to do hikes for pday. 10/10 would recommend it has been awesome! Thus week we did one called pedra do elefante! And it was super awesome yall should take the time to do it EXCHANGE #1 My first exchange was with Elder Brito we spent 2 days getting on the grind together and it was fun! We found a ton of people, taught some great lessons and taught English class too! The most memorable moment was when we gave a lesson to a group of people about keeping the sabbath day holy! We had one friend of ours leave the room saying under his breath "this has to be the true church there's no other option" and it was really really cool. Apr 24, 2023: Scavenger Hunt 2.0

 So there's a list of names and addresses of members in our ward. But this list is at least 5-10 years old. Our bishop was a bit worried about this, so we offered to help a little bit! And let's just say it's been probably the biggest scavenger Hunt of my life hahahaha.  With a little map and a ton of effort we've been able to find and teach many many inactive members. It has been really awesome not going to lie. We have lots and lots of desire to help these people return to activity in the church and help them continue along the covenant path! Anyway let's highlight some of the best moments! EXCHANGESSS This week I has the opportunity to stay with a brand new missionary Elder de Jesus! It was way fun haha. We actually got our phone stolen on that day too so that was an interesting story, but after that we just went out with paper and pencil and went finding.
