Dec 6, 2021:Two Americans and a Moçambique walk into a bar...

Oi everyone! Happy Monday! Man do things change fast on the mission! Cause on Tuesday night, we got some news that we were about to become a trio! And youd Thats right, with the wave of missionaries coming in on Dec 3, we now have another American greenie here to join me in my quest to learn Portuguese before I kill off my trainer in 2 1/2 weeks! And you'll never guess who it is... I guess God really does have a sense of humor cause our new companion is my friend from CTM, Elder Shepherd! It's really weird to have someone I know around but it's been a blast haha. Since I've been here in Brazil a whole 2 weeks longer than him, I guess that makes me the Senior companion? Or one of them at least. So here we are, one missionary about to head home and 2 who don't know any Portugese!

ELDER BOROMA
I realize now I haven't told you too much about my companion yet. My trainer's Elder Boroma, and he is pretty dang awesome! He is a great teacher of Portugese and his English is pretty good too, so that is way nice haha. He is also an amazing chef for when we actually eat at the house. He is a champ for having trained 4 Americans in his last 2 transfers. I don't even know how thats possible but here we are. He is really funny and really good at working with members. Hes got a lot of knowledge of the scriptures and of the lessons and he is always fun to be around.

ELDER SHEPHERD
So me and Elder Shepherd were in the same CTM group a short couple months ago, and now we're companions! Like it's really incredibly crazy haha. He was reassigned to Texas and somehow when he got the call it ended up being how it worked out. I'm still not sure what's going to be happening when Elder Boroma leaves in like 3 weeks tho... I'll keep yall updated!

SICK DAYS :(
Elder Boroma got pretty sick this week and I got a little cold as well. It was really unfortunate and so we spent our first few days in a trio in the apartment. Honestly it's a little bit rough just being stuck here, but thankfully due to technology, we can still work, even if it's really boring sometimes haha. Also we got to go the the ER, so that was an adventure this week haha. We went cause Elder Boroma leaves soon so he needed a covid test cause he's been so sick. I'm personally doing fine, I've had a bit of a headache and also a sore throat, but Im doing fine!

RAPID FIRE RANDOM
We got lost on the train on the way to zone pday last week so that was kinda funny and it added like 30 minutes of traveling to what was already an hour.

Zone Pday was straight fire, and we had a churrasco which was delish. Also Brazilians are cracked at soccer. Or at least the ones in our zone haha. Good stuff!

I got to go to the Cristo Redentor statue!!!!! ... Or at least a small version of One we saw on a corner haha.

Natal is coming (Christmas) and it's like 100 degrees or more here every day, so it's really weird for me haha. I'm dreaming of a rainy Christmas, cause those days are only like 85 instead of 105.

It's really weird to have someone newer than me around cause some days it feels like I've been here forever and other days it feels like I just got here so it's really weird haha.

We ate a 40 cm hot dog with so much stuff on it you couldn't even tell it was a hot dog.

I think thats pretty much it for me this week! It's been a crazy one for sure, but it's been fun as well! I love being able to serve the Lord in whatever way I can.

Spiritual Thought!
2 Nephi 4:19
And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth, because of my sins. Nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted.

We all make mistakes. Because we are mortal and imperfect fallen people, we mess up. A lot of times we mess up a lot. Nephi was one of the best people on the planet, yet he still says he has sins, sins which make him hurt. Without a Savior, we couldnt make it back. And that is why he says "I know in whom I have trusted." We trust in Christ to make the difference and he does. He did. He will always. We can turn to him and he will welcome us home, no matter what we think we have done. He loves us, and we can trust him. I know that is true.

Love you all.
