Jan 10, 2022: Living the trio life... Again

 Hello everyone! Hope youre all having a great day so far, and I hope that you all had a great week this week!! This weeks email might be a bit shorter haha. But as it says in the title, We had transfers this week and while I stayed in Caxias with Elder Siqueira, we also got a new companion, fresh from a reassignment in the States, Elder Collins. Hes pretty dang sick so Im really excited to see how it goes here. But also now Im definetly out of my training, and I was never really trained in the first place, so well see how this goes I guess lol. But anway, Im doing well out here in the inner city, I havent died yet, so were going strong. But lets jusst hit some highlights of the week!


THE WORK

The work is starting to pop off here in Duque de Caxias! Were getting a ton of references and a ton of intrested people, and were finally starting to give some decent lessons, which I am super excited about! This week at church we had one of the grandsons of the Relief Society president tell us he wanted to be Baptized so we went and gave him the first lesson right then and there, so that is really really exciting!! We are also going to start working more with the part member and unmarried families of the ward to help them out with that, so weve got a lot of hope in that area! And finally we have Carlos and our other friends that weve just met in the last couple weeks, they are all really cool, and we have high hopes that they will have a desire to be baptized soon! Carlos has already come to Church 3 times so were really working with him to help him with his questions. Good things are to come people! Oh also we did a street contact and he said we could come over next week to teach him and the 20 people who live in the same house so thatll be way fun haha. Oh and also also its really funny cause we get all the referalls for the people who live here in Duque that they dont know the address for, but the majority dont live in our area. So weve had likee 3 really really baller lessons that have all been with people in other areas, so its kinda funny but its good at the same time. 

The(IR)Regular Portuguese Update

So my portuguese is actually coming along pretty well! I can understand basically anything that I am trying to understand, and Im even getting a little bit of a Rio accent. But I cant talk like super well, but I am getting to the point where its more natural to say the basic introductory stuff in Portugese than English, so Im making progress people! Gift of tongues hype!

Random Stuff Update

I beat my district at risk last pday
Ive been practicing soccer with Elder Siqueira in the mornings cause I am really bad, but Im improving pretty quickly! 
I tried out Burger King here in brazil and it was pretty good.
I got fried on pday again
We spent like 4 hours one day just calling formers and we got like 20 lessons from it, but most of them fell through, which was sad. 
I solved a rubix cube in less than a minute.
Weve been walking a hecka lot, but I think were going to start walking even more.
I learned a fun card game called Truco that me and Elder Siqueira played when we were calling tons of people.
I think thats basically it! I know I always forget to add stuff to my emails, so if you ever have a question, just ask and IIl include it!

I quero adicionar meu testemunho ao testemunho dos filhos do rei Mosias! Eu sei que o Senhor reina e ele tem todo poder na Terra. Ele nos dá esse poder atraves o sacerdocio. Nos temos a abilidade a chamar os poders de Deus por meio do nome de Jesus Cristo! Ele e nosso Rei e nosso Salvador. Sem ele, nos somos nada, mas com ele, nos somos tudo. Eu vos amo! Eu espero que vocês vão também lembrar a compartlhiar o nome de Jesus Cristo e a mensagem dele na Terra com todas as pessoas! É a mais importante obra na Terra! Tem uma boa semana!!

  Hello friends and family happy Monday! I hope you're all doing super well. Sorry about not getting an email out last week, but I'll try to recapitulate what I missed. Also a fair warning that the emails might be a bit shorter than they have been but I promise to send a monster when I get home. These last two weeks have been full of miracles and some good times, so ima just give a lightning round! LIGHTNING ROUND We had 2 of the best lunches of my mission last week. The first was a churrasco with some members from the south that was delicious. The second was humongous beef filets with mashed potatoes. May 8, 2023: Week of exchanges

  Hello my friends! How're you all doing??? Hope you're week cause I'm doing great here in Barreto, RJ! This week we had some great times and saw some awesome miracles that I want to talk about! So let's just get right into the email and talk! PDAY On the Mish whenever I can I like to do hikes for pday. 10/10 would recommend it has been awesome! Thus week we did one called pedra do elefante! And it was super awesome yall should take the time to do it EXCHANGE #1 My first exchange was with Elder Brito we spent 2 days getting on the grind together and it was fun! We found a ton of people, taught some great lessons and taught English class too! The most memorable moment was when we gave a lesson to a group of people about keeping the sabbath day holy! We had one friend of ours leave the room saying under his breath "this has to be the true church there's no other option" and it was really really cool. Apr 24, 2023: Scavenger Hunt 2.0

 So there's a list of names and addresses of members in our ward. But this list is at least 5-10 years old. Our bishop was a bit worried about this, so we offered to help a little bit! And let's just say it's been probably the biggest scavenger Hunt of my life hahahaha.  With a little map and a ton of effort we've been able to find and teach many many inactive members. It has been really awesome not going to lie. We have lots and lots of desire to help these people return to activity in the church and help them continue along the covenant path! Anyway let's highlight some of the best moments! EXCHANGESSS This week I has the opportunity to stay with a brand new missionary Elder de Jesus! It was way fun haha. We actually got our phone stolen on that day too so that was an interesting story, but after that we just went out with paper and pencil and went finding.
