Jan 11, 2023: The big catch-up
Hello my friends and family happy Wednesday! Hope you all are well and sorry it's been so long that I've written! As of right now I am in the area of Barreto with my same comp Elder Nobre. This last transfer was an adventure, and I'm excited for another one here with all of the blessings and challenges that come with that!
Just a quick Rundown of what's been happening out here! As a district leader this transfer was pretty funny, cause our district was WILD. There were some real fun folks out here with us and it made every sort of district meeting a blast haha. It is always fun to be around people that you really legitimately like, and this transfer had lots of that. One funny thing that happened is that our apartment passed a 10 remodel, and we had to stay in a (pretty run-down) apartment with 6 elders.... for 10 days. It was really quite enjoyable to have the company, but the comfort situation was less than ideal.... jahaha jkjkj. It was great.
This next transfer were staying mostly intact, just one Elder, (my ex-companion) Elder Alegría was transferred which is sad. But Im sure this transfer will be just as fun as the last!
Our zone was also a blast and while it won't look the same this next transfer, I was glad to have this zone that I had. (99% glad at least hahah.)
The work has been going well out here too. Literally yesterday we finally had the baptism of our friend Dicemar! It was a really great experience. Also even though the holidays are tough for working, we managed to keep a good group who we can work with this next transfer! It should be really good! I am really trying to get better at teaching and bringing the spirit to the lessons, and I hope that this next transfer I continue to improve!
I just want to share a spiritual thought with yall that we talked about in elders Quórum the other day. We were talking about having to stand in Holy places and a quick thought came into my mind. It went a little like this "...e você não vai sentir faulta." Which means basically, and you won't miss it. This thought meant a lot to me. When we stand in holy places, we don't miss where we were before. When we chose to sacrifice who we ARE for who we CAN BECOME, we won't miss who we WERE. That kinda struck me cause it reminded me of something else that I read that said "the pain of sacrifice only lasts a moment. It is the fear of the pain of sacrifice that makes us hesitate to do it. I think that if we knew what God wants us to become, we'd give ourselves up in a second to become it. But we're afraid. We don't know what will happen, or if our friends will still like us or if the others aren't doing it or whatever. But I know one things. We won't miss it. I encourage you all to think of that thing that you have that you won't miss. And cut it out. God will help you become who you need to become.
I love you all so much! Have a great week and i love hearing from yall!
Elder Bradshaw!
