Jan 17, 2022: Weeekly

 Hi everyone, Happy monday! Hope that you are all having a good day toda! Honestly I dont have a ton to write about this week, it was kinda just a normal week here in Caxias! But the work is continuing to go well, just plugging along each and every day, and its awesome! Theres nowhere Id rather be than doing the work of the Lord! 


Anways Im not sure how to divide this week up, cause it was a fairly normal week! Ill just do this...

OUT OF OUR AREA

This week we had a couple of things to do out of our area. We went down to rio to get paperwork done for Elder Collins, which was a blast, its always fun to see and talk to new missionaries. And also we went up to Jardim Leal for a Zone Leadership Council cause Elder Siqueira is District leader! So that was way fun! But... ill talk more about that second one later. 

IN OUR AREA! 

We had a pretty good time out on the streets and stuff this week. We have a Mcdonalds in our area and my comps love McDonald's so we've been out there a few times this week, and then also just street contacting and finding and walking to lunches and appointments. Its always fun! We got some good rain early this week which was fun.

So... I got sick. Not terribly, just the last couple days Ive been feeling a bit crappy, so to stay safe we've stuck around the house, which is... pretty boring. Thankfully we've still been able to work, but its been a bit harder. Lots of calling people. But yannow, the work moves on, so its all good! But i have been able to see some blessings here in the house, with finding a ton of new people to teach! This week will be good! 

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT 

With being in the house all of Sunday I took a lot of time to study. I studied the entire book of Alma which was awesome. There are so many amazing stories there! Alma, Amulek, Zeezrom, Ammon, Aaron, Omner, Himni, Helaman, Shiblon, Moroni, Teancum, the list goes on and on. But one thing that stuck out to me with these men is they all put GOD FIRST, and whatever else second. We can be like these great prophets these great leaders when we put God first in our lives. It doesn't matter if we are about to die like the Anti-Nephi-Lehis, or if we were the vilest of sinners like Zeezrom. It doesn't matter if we are fighting a war like Moroni and Teancum, or restoring our friends and family to the faith like Alma and Amulek, we can put God first.
But how do we do it?
We can do it in a variety of ways. 
We can pray for strength like Alma when we taught the Zoramites.
We can listen to the Angels in our life like Amulek
We can follow the words of the prophets like the leaders of the nephite army
We can choose to repent and have faith to be healed like Zeezrom
We can be brave against our fears like the stripling warriors
We can listen to our parents like Helaman, Shiblon, and Corianton
We can strengthen our brethren in the lord like Moroni
We can choose to be a peacemaker like Pahoran
We can keep the faith like the people of Gideon
We can never fall away like the people of Ammon
We can be patient like Aaron in affliction.
We can give away our sins to know our savior like the king of the Lamanites
We can teach exhort and expound like Alma to the people of Zarahemla.
We can do anything to help the kingdom of God.
I know that the book of mormon is true. I know if we put God first we can truly have the ability to be like these great men in the scriptures. I know these things are true!

Well I love you all a bunch! Ima try to get pics to work but we'll see. Love you all a ton and talk to you next week

  Hello friends and family happy Monday! I hope you're all doing super well. Sorry about not getting an email out last week, but I'll try to recapitulate what I missed. Also a fair warning that the emails might be a bit shorter than they have been but I promise to send a monster when I get home. These last two weeks have been full of miracles and some good times, so ima just give a lightning round! LIGHTNING ROUND We had 2 of the best lunches of my mission last week. The first was a churrasco with some members from the south that was delicious. The second was humongous beef filets with mashed potatoes. May 8, 2023: Week of exchanges

  Hello my friends! How're you all doing??? Hope you're week cause I'm doing great here in Barreto, RJ! This week we had some great times and saw some awesome miracles that I want to talk about! So let's just get right into the email and talk! PDAY On the Mish whenever I can I like to do hikes for pday. 10/10 would recommend it has been awesome! Thus week we did one called pedra do elefante! And it was super awesome yall should take the time to do it EXCHANGE #1 My first exchange was with Elder Brito we spent 2 days getting on the grind together and it was fun! We found a ton of people, taught some great lessons and taught English class too! The most memorable moment was when we gave a lesson to a group of people about keeping the sabbath day holy! We had one friend of ours leave the room saying under his breath "this has to be the true church there's no other option" and it was really really cool. Apr 24, 2023: Scavenger Hunt 2.0

 So there's a list of names and addresses of members in our ward. But this list is at least 5-10 years old. Our bishop was a bit worried about this, so we offered to help a little bit! And let's just say it's been probably the biggest scavenger Hunt of my life hahahaha.  With a little map and a ton of effort we've been able to find and teach many many inactive members. It has been really awesome not going to lie. We have lots and lots of desire to help these people return to activity in the church and help them continue along the covenant path! Anyway let's highlight some of the best moments! EXCHANGESSS This week I has the opportunity to stay with a brand new missionary Elder de Jesus! It was way fun haha. We actually got our phone stolen on that day too so that was an interesting story, but after that we just went out with paper and pencil and went finding.
