July 27, 2022: I'm proud to be A-Maricàence

 Well it happened. After so long in my new hometown Conceição de Macabu, I finally was transferred. It was pretty dang hard to leave, say goodbye to the people I know and love, especially when it is so ready there to start grinding and seeing fruits. Buuuutt I know that my new area is going to be an awesome one also!! I am now in the city of Maricá, and I'm really excited to be here. I've only had one day here but it is super nice so far! It's going to be an awesome transfer I am sure of it! Also everyone keep on praying for the área Conceição de Macabu, with my man Elder Jesus training a newbie, that everything will keep going well. Anyways let's get to the week!

THE NORMAL
Thursday Friday and Saturday we worked like normal, we traveled to macabuzinho which is a place pretty far from where we live (17 kilometers), and we walked and taught a ton on Saturday which was lit! And Sunday we had church like normal and some after church finding and visiting, and then came...

TRANSFERS
Sunday night we received word about the transfer, and it was super crazy. It was hard to hear that I wouldn't be staying but I know it's in God's plan for me. And then after on Monday I spent the day running around like a crazy person trying to say goodbye to the thousands of people that I know in Macabu. And then I stayed up until an unreasonably late hour packing my bags hahah. And after all this, I slept for like 2 hours until 5:00, we got up, dragged my bags to the bus stop, went to Macaé. Spent some time telling how ridiculous our travel plan was... (we had 3 people from Macaé transferred, and we traveled together but we didn't have a phone cause of a mistake in the planning), took the bus to Itaboraí, stood around clueless for a few minutes, started walking around aimlessly for a solid second until by luck the other elderes happened to see us passing by, and finally me and my comp took a few hours on the bus to get to the area! So it was a fun ride haha. But also the wait and walk were worth it cause already on the first night we had dinner with a member! Good stuff yall. Also my comps really cool too so that's nice. But we'll see how this goes!

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
This week I've been studying a lot of questions. Specifically questions that are asked and answered in the book of mormon. As I have studied I have come to appreciate the fact that THE SCRIPTURES HAVE THE ANSWERS! Basically anything that you have doubt, anything that you want to know, can be found in the scriptures! I know that when we study, we will find answers to our hearts questions. I want to encourage each of you to take a question that you've been having, bring it to the Lord and study. I promise you there's an answer!

  Hello friends and family happy Monday! I hope you're all doing super well. Sorry about not getting an email out last week, but I'll try to recapitulate what I missed. Also a fair warning that the emails might be a bit shorter than they have been but I promise to send a monster when I get home. These last two weeks have been full of miracles and some good times, so ima just give a lightning round! LIGHTNING ROUND We had 2 of the best lunches of my mission last week. The first was a churrasco with some members from the south that was delicious. The second was humongous beef filets with mashed potatoes. May 8, 2023: Week of exchanges

  Hello my friends! How're you all doing??? Hope you're week cause I'm doing great here in Barreto, RJ! This week we had some great times and saw some awesome miracles that I want to talk about! So let's just get right into the email and talk! PDAY On the Mish whenever I can I like to do hikes for pday. 10/10 would recommend it has been awesome! Thus week we did one called pedra do elefante! And it was super awesome yall should take the time to do it EXCHANGE #1 My first exchange was with Elder Brito we spent 2 days getting on the grind together and it was fun! We found a ton of people, taught some great lessons and taught English class too! The most memorable moment was when we gave a lesson to a group of people about keeping the sabbath day holy! We had one friend of ours leave the room saying under his breath "this has to be the true church there's no other option" and it was really really cool. Apr 24, 2023: Scavenger Hunt 2.0

 So there's a list of names and addresses of members in our ward. But this list is at least 5-10 years old. Our bishop was a bit worried about this, so we offered to help a little bit! And let's just say it's been probably the biggest scavenger Hunt of my life hahahaha.  With a little map and a ton of effort we've been able to find and teach many many inactive members. It has been really awesome not going to lie. We have lots and lots of desire to help these people return to activity in the church and help them continue along the covenant path! Anyway let's highlight some of the best moments! EXCHANGESSS This week I has the opportunity to stay with a brand new missionary Elder de Jesus! It was way fun haha. We actually got our phone stolen on that day too so that was an interesting story, but after that we just went out with paper and pencil and went finding.
