Mar 30, 2022: Director of management

 Hello everyone, good morning from Brazil! It's been a pretty good week here nothing too out of the ordinary, but honestly just a good week of missionary work! I'll see how much I remember haha. But anyways I'll just hop right into it!!


MEMBER WORK

I'll just hop right into the title of my email, this week we did a whole lot of working on the streets with members! It was a lot of fun, we did some visits to members with the branch president, contacted people on the streets with the president of the quorum, and then we invited a tooon of people to the temple open house with some youth in our ward! It was a really good experience to see them all take an interest in the work here in Macabu! But as the title says, I felt more like a director than a missionary haha, some of the youth have got a loooot of energy! So I felt a little bit like I was just directing traffic for a bit there helping everyone out, but it was just so fun!!

TEMPLE

Speaking of the temple open house I don't even know if we've talked about this yet but basically all of our focus right now is getting people to head to Rio for the temple visitation that's happening this month! We've had promises that if we do it, we'll see miracles so we're just inviting like crazy! It's a lot of fun and a really good way to help people learn about our church!! I'm still hoping that we get to go ourselves to the open house but we'll find out haha. 

THE UNFORTUNATE THING ABOUT MACABU...

Is honestly that our area is so big we don't really get to meet some of our friends. We have 3 different progressing people that live like 5 hours away hahaha, it's a bit funny that all of the people progressing are the ones that live the farthest from us, but we're hoping to make it out there one day to visit, also who knows maybe if they're ready enough we'll  get permission to baptize in a river or something. 😉


SPIRITUAL THOUGHT

I know I said I'd share another thought of Elder and Sister Soares but I forgot my notebook, so I'll have to wait till next week. So my thought this week is about listening. One thing I liked in preach my gospel this week was a section about truly listening and I've been working on doing that a little bit more. Preach my gospel encourages us to take time to listen. Don't think what you're going to say next, don't think about what to do, just truly listen. If you do this you will know the person. You will know how to help. And finally, when you do this, you know the spirit. You know the promptings you have to help them and you will be able to say the right thing! 


Anyyyways I know I've gone a few weeks without pictures so I'll try to attach some here, or on a separate email!!

  Hello friends and family happy Monday! I hope you're all doing super well. Sorry about not getting an email out last week, but I'll try to recapitulate what I missed. Also a fair warning that the emails might be a bit shorter than they have been but I promise to send a monster when I get home. These last two weeks have been full of miracles and some good times, so ima just give a lightning round! LIGHTNING ROUND We had 2 of the best lunches of my mission last week. The first was a churrasco with some members from the south that was delicious. The second was humongous beef filets with mashed potatoes. May 8, 2023: Week of exchanges

  Hello my friends! How're you all doing??? Hope you're week cause I'm doing great here in Barreto, RJ! This week we had some great times and saw some awesome miracles that I want to talk about! So let's just get right into the email and talk! PDAY On the Mish whenever I can I like to do hikes for pday. 10/10 would recommend it has been awesome! Thus week we did one called pedra do elefante! And it was super awesome yall should take the time to do it EXCHANGE #1 My first exchange was with Elder Brito we spent 2 days getting on the grind together and it was fun! We found a ton of people, taught some great lessons and taught English class too! The most memorable moment was when we gave a lesson to a group of people about keeping the sabbath day holy! We had one friend of ours leave the room saying under his breath "this has to be the true church there's no other option" and it was really really cool. Apr 24, 2023: Scavenger Hunt 2.0

 So there's a list of names and addresses of members in our ward. But this list is at least 5-10 years old. Our bishop was a bit worried about this, so we offered to help a little bit! And let's just say it's been probably the biggest scavenger Hunt of my life hahahaha.  With a little map and a ton of effort we've been able to find and teach many many inactive members. It has been really awesome not going to lie. We have lots and lots of desire to help these people return to activity in the church and help them continue along the covenant path! Anyway let's highlight some of the best moments! EXCHANGESSS This week I has the opportunity to stay with a brand new missionary Elder de Jesus! It was way fun haha. We actually got our phone stolen on that day too so that was an interesting story, but after that we just went out with paper and pencil and went finding.
