Nov 16, 2021:I promise I'm not an apostate missionary...

Hullo all!! And before any of you ask, our mission is one of the few in the country that has a pros (proselytizing) Monday! The week before transfers, p-day is Tuesday just to help everyone stay focused so here I am haha. It was a weird day though because all the stuff that we normally do is not on Monday so we filled that time with a loooooot of finding time. Im pretty sure between knocking, street contacting and Facebook we probably spent near like 7 hours finding today. We found a grand total of... nobody! But we're still ok with that cause sometimes all you can do is plant the seed. But let's get to the rest of the week!

HOOFIN IT
This has become my life. On I think it was Wendesday we walked like 15 miles and it was a bit rough the first few days. It turns out having a car for a car area is pretty important haha. But nope, there I was walking on the side of the highway home from church for 3 miles... or walking on some train tracks to try to get to a lesson on time (we were 20 minutes late)... or sprinting through the city trying to get to another lesson on time (This one we were 30 minutes late.)... and on Saturday... we got bikes from the ZLs... half a mile in the tire completely exploded... we ended up having to walk 3 miles in the rain to a lesson anyways! So I guess transportation just isn't meant to be for the Rutland area Haha. It just means we have to schedule a lot of travel time between all our lessons haha. But it's good practice for Rio! And I've gotten my companion to go on a run with me! (Technically)

EXCHANGES (VOL 5)
We had another exchange this week which brings my total up to 5 for the transfer! It was really fun! I went with Elder Davis, and we got to do a lot of walking haha. We knocked some doors, taught a couple lessons, and it was a pretty fun time!!

MY FIRST MEMBER MEAL
I officially got my first member meal because it was with an inactive! Our rules dont allow member meals unless a nonmember is there or inactive so we got to finally have one! It was really good and we had some Korean food! And got a cake to take home!

Well I'm about wrapping up the NHMM part of my mission, and I'm getting ready to head to a whole new country (awesome) a whole new culture (excited!)  a whole new food style (oh yea!) and a whole new language (uhhhh... oh crap) but I'm super duper excited to start this new chapter in my life and mission and while I will miss the NHMM a lot, I will not miss the cold haha. Goodbye snow and sub30 temperatures, hello 70 year round!! Its going to be awesome! I might be able to send a little update during my 6 hour layover in Miami, but I'm not too sure about that. But if not! I'll email yall from Rio next week! Have a good week everyone!

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT!
This week I want to focus my thought on one of my favorite scriptures that is not very well known. In Nehemiah 6:9 it talks about a builder who had an important task of rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem. While he was rebuilding there were attacks trying to get them to stop. He says "For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands." I think the phrase strengthen my hands is an important one. When we are afraid and dont feel we can finish something. We need to pray for strength to do what needs to be done. He didn't pray for the wall to be finished but rather for his hands to be strengthened while he was building. I know that Satan uses fear to paralyze us. I know if we move forward with prayers and faith and scripture study, we will be able to get over that fear and come to do what needs to be done. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

Love you all
