Oct 18, 2021: Finding Finding Finding (Also finding with some new people)
Hullo all! It's another Monday so you know what that means! It's all you guys starting another school week and work week!
Haha but Its also email day for thousands of missionaries throughout the world, so thanks for taking some time to read mine! With that out of the way I'll hop right into it!
FINDING!
We do a lot of finding here in Rutland. Like a lot. Like most of our days are usually mostly finding. We've had 4-5ish hours of finding or more per day since I've been here so it's crazy. What's also crazy is that we still have a tiny teaching pool after all that. We are currently teaching 1 person. So were still working on the finding and finding and finding! We have found 11 new people this week who have expressed interest in possibly learning more, so hopefully we can start teaching some of them soon!
Bonus story. Last night we were finding in the rain for 3 hours in the tiny city of Castleton VT, and it was pretty interesting. And really cold. But also we got kicked off a community college campus out there, but only after we were able to find like 5 phone numbers so hah.
But it was a surreal experience cause it's like the missionaries you see on TV and there I was just walking down the street without a jacket in a downpour and it was really funny! But I survived and here I am to tell you all about it.

We don't do a ton of teaching so idk why I have this as a heading. We are teaching one person named Sherry, and she is on date to be baptized but all prayers are appreciated!
EXCHANGES
So when you're companions with the District leader you get to do some extra exchanges each transfer! This week I had the opportunity to do 2 exchanges!! The first was on Tuesday with elder Parker. Elder Parker has been out for 2 transfers and is fresh out of training. But since we were down in Rutland, i was actually leading the exchange! So it was a bit like the blind leading the blind... Haha not really we actually got a ton of work done and had a few good lessons and lots of good contacts. I think we only technically "found" 1 person, a referral to the Spanish elders who live like 4 hours away, but we handed out 4 copies of the BoM and had 5-6 really good conversations with people and got some phone numbers! So that was a pretty epic day. I love elder Parker! I also had the opportunity to go on an exchange with the zone leader! I was a bit worried cause the word on the street is that he is super strict, but I really loved it! His name is elder Richardson and he is a huge runner, just like me. We went to Burlington for the exchange and it was like a whole different world up there. In 10 minutes of finding there, we got more phone numbers than I have had in entire days of finding. So its crazy. But I had an awesome time with Elder Richardson. We got to teach a lot together and that was fun. We were also there with the 2 trainees that are in Berlington so we got to do 1 of our lessons s with 3 trainees so that was pretty funny. He also answered lots of questions that I had and helped me a lot to become a better missionary!
Well im pretty sure this email is already longer than most of mine are so I'll do a quick spiritual thought for yall.
We have the opportunity each week to have district council at the Joseph Smith Birthplace in Sharon Vermont. It is awesome each time, and it makes me think of my testimony of the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that he was the start of the "dispensation of the fullness of times" and that he was a true prophet of God. Lots of people we meet try to attack our church through attacking Joseph Smith, but as I have been at his birthplace I have come to realize even further that he was human. He made mistakes like everyone and he tried his best to repent and be better. He was an example for all of us in doing this. We often make mistakes and think that God can't use us anymore, but that's not true. If we are truly trying to be better, we will be forgiven and God will use us to accomplish his will!
Well I love you all, I'll probably have to send pictures in another email like last time so I'll send some in a bit! Have a good week!
